{"id":203,"date":"2014-08-21T08:55:48","date_gmt":"2014-08-21T07:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kitt\/knowledgebase\/?p=17"},"modified":"2024-05-13T10:20:33","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T10:20:33","slug":"setting-up-customer-discount","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/Clientknowledgebase\/?p=203","title":{"rendered":"Setting up Customer Discount"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Season allows the user to set up discount fro a customer in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n<h2>Normal\u00a0Customer Discount<\/h2>\n<p>This is discount that can be set against customer that applies to all products.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-687 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/ClientKnowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/CustomerSetupDiscount.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"839\" height=\"555\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To set up normal discount,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Load Customer Setup and bring up the customer for whom you wish to set up Normal Discount<\/li>\n<li>Go to the Settings -&gt; Account Setting -&gt; Other tab page<\/li>\n<li>Enter in the Normal Discount percentage that you wish to apply to this customer<\/li>\n<li>Press F2 or click on the save button at the top of the screen to save.<\/li>\n<li>The customer will now have this discount percentage applied to all future orders<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Settlement Discount<\/h2>\n<p>Settlement discount is applied when\u00a0the customer receives a certain percentage discount on the VAT on an order.<\/p>\n<p>To set up settlement discount,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Load Customer Setup and bring up the customer for whom you wish to set up Normal Discount<\/li>\n<li>Go to the Settings -&gt; Account Setting -&gt; Other tab page<\/li>\n<li>Enter in the Settlement\u00a0Discount percentage that you wish to apply to this customer<\/li>\n<li>Press F2 or click on the save button at the top of the screen to save.<\/li>\n<li>The customer will now have this discount percentage applied to all future orders<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Customer Product Discount<\/h2>\n<p>Season allow a user to set up discounts for specific products for customers. These discounts will only apply to that customer\/product<\/p>\n<h3>Setting up Customer Product Discounts\u00a0 (17.1 +)<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>In Customer Setup load the customer you want to setup discounts for.<\/li>\n<li>Then click on Pricing -&gt; Setup Prices\/Discounts -&gt; Setup Customer Prices, Discounts + Label Prices<\/li>\n<li>This should load the\u00a0price setup grid for that customer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-694 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/ClientKnowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/PriceEntryDiscount.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"549\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Enter the discount percentage in the &#8216;Discount&#8217; column and tab across to finish the line and\u00a0save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Setting up Customer Product Discounts\u00a0 (Pre 17.1)<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>In Customer Setup load the customer you want to setup discounts for.<\/li>\n<li>Then click on Pricing -&gt; Setup Prices\/Discounts -&gt; Setup Customer Discounts<\/li>\n<li>This should load the discounts setup grid<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-688 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/ClientKnowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/CustomerDisoucntSetup.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"757\" height=\"448\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To set up a new discount<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the product you want to discount for this customer<\/li>\n<li>Press TAB to move to the Discount% column<\/li>\n<li>Enter the Discount Percentage<\/li>\n<li>Press TAB again to finish the line.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The discount has now been saved.<\/p>\n<h4>Using Customer Product Discount Utilities<\/h4>\n<p>For your convenience there are also \u2018Customer Discount Database Utilities\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-689 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/ClientKnowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/CustomerDiscountUtilities.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"50\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Clicking this button will launch the Customer Discount Database Utilities Window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-691 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/vger.datos.co.uk\/ClientKnowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DiscountUtilitiesPassword.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The options here are,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Cancel Operation<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Do nothing and return to the previous view<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delete Customer Discounts<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Will delete all the discounts for the current customer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sync Mapped Customers with Parent Customer Discounts<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Will, for example for a head office customer, remove any discounts set up against the branch accounts and replace them with the discounts that are set up against the head office account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Simply select the option you want to preform and click on the save button.<\/p>\n<h2>Setting products as Discount Exempt<\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes you may want to set a product as discount exempt (especially if you have set up normal\u00a0discount for a customer).<\/p>\n<p>To set up a customer to have a discount exempt product simply add the product to the customers product discount list as above and set the discount percentage as 0%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Season allows the user to set up discount fro a customer in a variety of ways.
