You may come across this error when trying to add lines on to a sales order. If the customer is an EC customer, you need to make sure they are set up for EC Sales or alternatively, if they are not an EC customer you will need to update your settings so that Season is not classing them as such. The main thing which will be effecting this is the Area set against the customer and what VAT code is set against that area.<\/p>\n

Checking which VAT codes are set up for EC Sales.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

First, open you system settings by clicking on the main Season icon<\/strong> along the top menu bar, selecting Setup Office<\/strong> and then System Settings and Default Codes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Within your System Defaults window, click the General <\/strong>tab and then the Tax <\/strong>tab.<\/p>\n

Within the EC Sales column<\/strong> there is a check box for each VAT code. If the box is checked, that VAT code can be used for EC Sales.<\/p>\n

Checking which areas are set up for EC Sales.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As above, navigate to your System settings and Default Codes<\/strong> window, only this time select the General tab<\/strong> and then the Area tab<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Highlighted above, the Area Rules<\/strong> column determines if an area is an EC area or not. Use EC for all EC areas<\/strong>, Internal for all local <\/strong>areas (ie all areas within your own country) and use Non-EC for all other areas<\/strong>. You also need to make sure you attach a VAT code to each area in the\u00a0Sales<\/strong> VAT<\/strong> column, if it\u2019s an EC area, make sure you attach a VAT code set up for EC sales.<\/p>\n

Setting up your Customer\u2019s Area.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now that you have adjusted your VAT codes and Areas you will need to assign the correct one to your customer. First, open your\u00a0Customer<\/strong> Setup<\/strong> window, this can be found under the\u00a0Sales<\/strong> Ledger<\/strong> tab from your right hand Operations Menu.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First load the customer you need to update, Click the Settings <\/strong>tab, Account Settings tab <\/strong>then the Default tab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will now see a field call Area Code. <\/strong>You now need to update the area code<\/strong> so that the customer is in the correct area.
