Season Error – “Customer is set as Contract customer. This product is NOT in their price book.”

If when trying to add a product to a sales order you get the error “Customer is set as Contract customer. This product is NOT in their price book” you will need to update one of the following….

If the customer is a contract customer

As contract customers can only purchase products that are set up in their price book, the product you are trying to add to their order is not in their price book. You will need to add this product to the their price book before you can add it to their order, for more instruction on how to add a product to a price book, follow this link.

If the customer is not a contract customer

If this customer is not a contract customer and have been mistakenly set up as such, you will need to uncheck the “allow sales to products on price book only” option from their customer set up. This can be done by opening Customer Setup, found within the Sales Ledger tab on your right hand operations menu. Once there click the Settings tab, then the Account Settings tab and finally the Other/Web tab.
