How to turn on Stock Control and Traceability

Stock Control

Stock control within Season is setup against each product group, so once you turn on stock control for a product group it will turn on stock control for every single product within that group.

To turn on stock control, follow the below steps.

  1. On the operations menu, go to product management -> product setup

  1. Go to General setups -> Product Groups

  1. From the dropdown list ‘Record Stock Movements’ select full stock movements.
  2. Press F2 to save or click the save button at the top of Season.

This will now have turned on stock control for all products assigned to this product group.

Traceability

If you want to record traceability against your stock, you will also have to turn on traceability against the product groups. Again this is done within product group setup.

  1. Within product group setup, from the ‘Trace Type’ dropdown list select the traceability profile that you want to assign to this group. For more info on creating traceability profiles click here
  2. Once you have selected the trace type that you want (if you don’t want to use traceability, select ‘No Trace), press F2 or click the save icon at the top of Season.

Now with the trace type assigned you can start booking in stock, and all the required traceability can be entered and recorded against the stock.

Setting the costing method against the product group

Within product group setup you will want to select how to cost your products sales. You have two options for this:-

  • Use Stock Cost- This will cost the sales based on the cost of the individual batch sold in a sales order (if you are using stock control)
  • Use Product Cost- This will always cost the sales based on the default product cost set against the individual product.
      1. To set the costing method, go to product group setup.
      2. From the dropdown list against ‘How to Cost Product Sales’, select the costing method that you need.

  1. Press F2 or the save icon at the top of Season to save the changes.
